Bad news if the U.S. pulls out of Syria

    There is talk, and not scuttlebutt, about pulling U.S. troops out of the Middle East generally, but specifically to my sensitive spot, to abandon the Kurds to the evisceration awaiting them at the hands of Iran, Turkey and Russia. I’ve read or heard remarks by both Democratic and Republican Congressional representatives in favor of such a move which means if it hasn’t been laughed down by now, it’s probably gaining support. That’s scary especially because it’s so nebulous and so damn dumb.

    When I hear them I know they are ignorant of the facts of imbalance that is life in Northwest Syria yesterday, today and tomorrow. Of this I’m certain.

    The fact is the Kurds led the mixed military team including the U.S. that rooted out ISIS ten years ago. We’ve reported on their continuing success as a team moving on and eliminating bee hives of ISIS administrators in northern Syria, and we keep reminding you that the Kurds are helping us hold 50,000 ISIS activists in al Hol camp. If the U.S. drops out of the picture that’s 50,000 mean bees.
